Behind the Work

In the Studio

Works in progress, process shots, and the quiet moments between finished pieces.

The Space

Studio Moments

The studio is where everything happens. Quiet mornings, long afternoons, and the particular light that makes everything look possible.

Wide studio shot — work island with fresh hydrangeas, paint shelves stocked floor to ceiling, string lights overhead
Studio sitting area — black leather chair with wood arms beside a marble-top side table holding a small vase of white hydrangeas

Process

How It Comes Together

Collage, acrylic, texture, and intention. A look at the materials, methods, and planning behind the work — from color tests and concept boards to the first loaded brush.

Second angle of the color mixing session — magenta, green, yellow, teal, orange, and deep blue cups with handwritten color recipe notes
Flat brush loaded with yellow paint held up in front of a warm peach-toned canvas with a pencil sketch of a face barely visible
Paint-stained work table covered in Golden, Amsterdam, and liquid acrylic tubes alongside bright color chip swatches in orange, teal, green, and pink
Concept board for Old Fashioned Lights: Winter in ND — bison herd, northern lights, and Buffalo Trace whiskey reference photos above a blank canvas

Special Guests

Special Guests in the Studio

Sometimes the studio gets a very special visitor. There is nothing quite like watching a child pick up a brush for the first time and just go for it — no hesitation, no second-guessing, pure instinct. The best kind of studio day.

Young girl in a paint-covered apron focused on her canvas at the studio work table, pour paintings drying beside her
Little artist looking up from her palette with a smile, brush ready, the whole studio behind her
Proud young artist holding up her two finished paintings — a waterfall landscape and a cozy cottage scene — beaming
